Itinerary

Morning – Kizimbani Spice Farm Discovery

Your day begins with a scenic drive to Kizimbani, Zanzibar’s most famous spice-growing region. A local guide walks you through the lush farm, showing how vanilla, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper, ginger, and lemongrass grow naturally. You taste fresh spices and fruits straight from the trees while learning how they’re used in Swahili cuisine, natural medicine, and daily life.
A short traditional performance and coconut-tree climbing show adds excitement to your farm visit before enjoying a flavorful spice lunch prepared using local ingredients

Midday – Kidichi Persian Baths (Sultan’s Heritage Stop)

After the spice tour, you continue to the Kidichi Persian Baths, built in the 1800s by Sultan Seyyid Said. Your guide shares stories of the sultan’s Persian wife, the architecture of the ancient bathing rooms, and how the site played a role in royal life. You explore the cool stone corridors and learn about Zanzibar’s connection to Oman and Persia.

Afternoon – Maruhubi Palace Ruins & Coconut Tasting

Next, you’ll visit the Maruhubi Palace ruins, once home to the sultan’s 100 concubines. Though mostly reclaimed by nature, the ruins tell fascinating stories of Zanzibar’s royal past. You’ll stroll through the palace grounds, take photos, and enjoy a fresh coconut from a local vendor nearby.

Late Afternoon – Mangapwani Coral Caves & Secret Beach

You then travel to Mangapwani, where coral caves hide deep history — once used as freshwater reservoirs and later associated with the ancient trade routes. A guided walk explains the natural formation of the cave and its unique geology.
After the cave exploration, you head to Mangapwani’s quiet, beautiful beach where you can relax, swim, or simply enjoy a peaceful moment away from crowds.

Sunset – Swahili Coffee & Local Snacks Experience

Before returning, you stop at a small Swahili café overlooking the coast. Here you enjoy Zanzibar coffee, spiced tea, or fresh juice served with local snacks like cassava chips, kashata, or mabuyu as the sun begins to set.
